Michelle Elizabeth James was born August 20, 1971 in Jacksonville, FL, to the late Roosevelt A. James and late Jewel L. James. She attended Wolfson Senior High School in Jacksonville, and later pursued higher education, receiving certifications from Fortis College and Institute and an associate degree from University of Phoenix. Michelle was renowned for her diligent work ethic, both in her professional career and towards her personal goals. Up until her passing, she was employed by Florida Blue. She enjoyed many hobbies and interests, which included reading, watching movies, listening to music, practicing self-care and pampering, and spending time with family and friends.
At a young age, Michelle accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and, as she became older in her adult years, would frequent church faithfully. Her devotion to God allowed her to spread love, prayer, and encouragement to anyone in need, making her a true definition of a “woman of God.”
She was an active member of Open Arms Christian Fellowship, where she graciously served in the Hospitality Ministry as a welcomer, which aligns with her warm, bubbly personality.
Michelle was preceded in death by both of her parents; grandmother, Ruby L. Bradley; uncle, Norchester “Sonny” Bradley (who is survived by wife, Shirley), and niece, Renee L Holmes.
Michelle is survived by her loving children, Sierra Ross, Khalilah Davis, and Lawton Davis, III; grandchildren, Braylon Johnson, Josiah Koehler and Joi Koehler; siblings; Janice James, Deborah Sims (William) and Roderick James (Pamela); nieces, Desirea McClain (Kenneth), Anquanette Smith (Jerome), Kenya Bell and Asia Bell; devoted friend, Lawton Davis, Jr.; close friends, Valarie Roberts and Bridget Scott, and a host of family and friends.
